Healthy Living in a Toxic Culture Outreach Program
Healthy Living in a Toxic Culture, is a two-day outreach program for junior and senior high students. In this series, students get an opportunity to share their personal and painful stories of how their lives have been impacted by our overly sexualized culture and the shame-based beliefs that they have quietly carried as a result. Never before spoken stories of grief, loss, abandonment, self-harm, abuse, and even suicidal thoughts often emerge. Knowing that these young people have been given permission and space to speak they’re once silent thoughts in a safe, judgment free community has further fueled our desire to expand this outreach program to include students from all across Alaska. We are now aiming to connect with both public and private schools, church youth groups, and community agencies that provide support services to junior and senior high youth. Please contact us for more information and to discuss how we can bring this outreach program to the young people in your community.
This program is offered in cooperation with Authentic Relationships International (ARI). If you would like to learn more about ARI
